Happy Holidays from NJPC APNC
Posted about 17 hours ago
Dear Members and Followers,
As 2025 comes to a close, it is a time to reflect on all that we have accomplished together this year. We welcomed new board members—Cheryle, Alex, and Clarissa—and benefited greatly from their wisdom, leadership, and support. With their expertise and support, we collaborated with COYL (Conversations of Your Life), the Northern New Jersey Oncology Nursing Society, and the Central ONS Society to expand education and awareness across a wide range of palliative care topics.
As a nonprofit member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), we continue to leverage their resources and support to remain informed and engaged in national advanced practice issues. We also actively support and advocate for Full Practice Authority legislation at the state level and remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing nursing and advanced practice nursing initiatives both statewide and nationally.
Looking ahead to 2026, we remain dedicated to advancing palliative care within our communities and supporting the New Jersey Medicaid Community-Based Palliative Care benefit, which is scheduled to launch in 2026. We will also continue to promote awareness of the benefits of palliative care for individuals with serious illness and to expand education for the broader healthcare community interested in integrating palliative care skills into their practice.
We are confident that 2026 will be our best year yet, and we look forward to continued engagement and collaboration with all of you.
Wishing you a happy, healthy, and peaceful holiday season.
The New Jersey Palliative Care Board of Directors
Yusimi Sobrino-Bonilla, Katie DeMarco, Judith Barberio, Nancy Reyes, Carissa Depew, Cheryle Aizley,, Alexandria Costantantin
