Dear NJPC APNC Members,
NJPC APNC has been partnering with various organizations to support and expand NJ APN practice to Full Practice Authority. Now is the time to join with our New Jersey partners to advocate for independent and full scope of practice.
APNs are highly trained, skilled healthcare professionals who play a vital role in delivering primary and mental health care. Granting them full practice authority would allow them to serve patients independently, improving access to high-quality care across New Jersey (NJ). With bipartisan support in both the Senate and Assembly, now is the time to move this bill forward and make NJ the 28th state to grant APNs full practice authority.
Currently, the requirement for a physician contractual agreement creates unnecessary delays and increases healthcare costs, barriers that disproportionately affect underserved communities. By passing Bill S1983/A944, we can empower APNs to provide timely, cost-effective care, easing strain on the healthcare system and ensuring more patients receive the attention they need.
This legislation is a critical step in addressing healthcare provider shortages and expanding care for all NJ residents. I urge you to support this bill and advocate for its passage. Your leadership in improving healthcare access is deeply valued.
We thank you for being positive role models and proactive NJPC APNC members. If you have any questions or recommendations, please reach out to us via our website: New Jersey Palliative Care Advanced Practice Nurse Consortium | ENP Network
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Regards,
The NJPC APNC Board
